I qualified as a doctor from St Bartholomew’s Medical school with honours in 1994. I did my house jobs in general medicine, diabetes and dermatology at Jersey General Hospital and my general surgical house job was in Northampton. I spent a year in Paediatrics (Children’s medicine) at Whipps Cross Hospital. My GP training was at The Royal Free Hospital in London where I worked through the specialities of acute adult psychiatry, old age psychiatry, Accident and emergency, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and General Medicine. I also have the Diploma in Child Health.
I have worked for over 20 years as a GP, and I continue to practice in the NHS as well as in the private sector. I enjoy all areas of medicine and have a particular interest In lifestyle medicine, mental health, women’s health and dermatology.
It is my aim to provide a reliable, friendly, accessible and professional service with appointments long enough to allow patients to discuss their concerns without rushing. This allows for a thorough assessment to be done and for shared decision making to occur.
I practice evidence-based medicine and keep up to date by attending courses relevant to general practice, reading articles in the medical literature and have a genuine passion for understanding and learning which leads me to read around the conditions that I see in my clinics on a regular basis.
I am married and have 5 children, ranging from 23 to 11 years old, three of them have left home to pursue their own passions now! I have a gorgeous working cocker spaniel, 2 Persian cats and 2 rabbits! I enjoy reading, running and fitness, walking my dog, cooking and spending time with my family and friends.
